Today is your lucky day!

Today is your lucky day! I chose this as the subject line because I am very intrigued by the subject lines in email. I am fascinated by words, and you would know this, if you have read my first blog, philologsblog.blogspot.com. I am a philolog, a lover of words and wisdom. Any why not? Today could be your lucky day. And if it doesn’t seem to be turning out that way, just press the reset button. You don’t have a “reset your day” button??? Well, you need to get one! Or you can just make one yourself. I drew a circle, filled it in and labeled it “Reset Button” on a post-it note. I have it hanging right next to my computer at work. It is wonderful. Whenever things seem to be going off track, I just press the button. And choose more positive thoughts and reframe the situation. And guess what?! It actually changes. You may have noticed that sometimes you have a bad day. And you may have noticed the moment when you decide that you’re just having a bad day and just resign yourself to it. I mean everyone has a bad day once in awhile. It’s okay once in a while as long as it is balanced out by those super fantastic days. We all have them once in a while, too. But what if we could stack the odds in our favor toward more fantastic days, than bad days? That’s what the reset button is for. Try it and let me know if it helps. It works for me. It’s a tangible reminder that I am in control of how I react to things around me. And at the very least, it brings humor to my day. And humor is a great stress reliever. After starting my research on the Fountain of Youth, I keep finding that chronic stress accelerates aging. So at the very least it will reduce stress.

Just a Quickie

I don't have time to write my usual brief, pithy article, so I'll just jot this down now and elaborate later.

I keep reading amazing things about hypnosis and I would like to highlight some of these studies here in Verbal Impact.

The University of Connecticut released a study in the mid 90's which demonstrated that
the use of hypnosis in combination with any weight program doubled the participant success rate.

DOUBLED the success rate? DOUBLED!!!
I think that is fantastic!
