We had a meeting on Saturday, May 26. We met some new friends and old. Welcome to Cheryl and Elena! Welcome back, Kirk!
We had a revealing discussion about hypnotic techniques that everyone can use to improve their life, day, or just enhance their mood, including EFT and the Sedona Method. As a hypnotist, I classify these as self-hypnosis. I base this on the fact that they can create a receptive state, change your current emotional state, and influence behavior by giving you more options. That's what hypnosis does. Lately I explain it as using the imagination to reveal your inner resources and open up more options.
Our next meeting will be at Panera Bread on Saturday, June 23, at 7pm.

The New Tampa Bay National Guild of Hypnotists
Tonight is the Kickoff Meeting of the TBNGH. We will review the Charter and Code of Ethics tonight.
This club is for professional hypnotists, hypno-enthusiasts who have been certified in hypnosis and others who are intrigued by hypnosis. Guests are welcome, and will be allowed to participate free at their first meeting and at special community events.
The NGH is a unique organization which since 1950, "continues to encourage an eclectic exchange of ideas, fellowship, mutual trust and cooperation among members -- while promoting and protecting the art, science and philosophy of hypnotism."
Dr. Damon, the president, "has done everything possible to have our field recognized as a separate and distinct profession. The Guild assists where needed, helping groups and individuals in various states regardless of their affiliations."
These quotes are from www.ngh.net.
The purposes of TBNGH are:
to promote hypnosis locally, nationally and globally; to educate the general public about the many successful applications of hypnosis and the benefits gained by regular use; challenge common misconceptions about hypnosis and hypnotism; and to support hypnotists and the profession as a legal and viable vehicle for personal change.
As president of the TBNGH, this is my vision for the members of TBNGH:
I can see a group of hypnotists, increasing their personal skills and expanding their knowledge and experience, spreading the word, encouraging other hypnotists and prospering while bringing comfort and relief to hundreds of clients who desirew to make behavioral changes.
We help normal people with everyday problems!
We make a contribution to every individual client as well as the community as we assist our clients.
I see us sharing our knowledge and experience, supporting each other, and creating more opportunities for all to prosper!
I have a dream that one day all hypnotists will stand hand in hand and together create a world with more freedom and prosperity for all and no bad habits.
Each member will use self-hypnosis for maximizing their own potential, contribute expertise to others, hypnotists and clients, spread freedom and prosperity locally, nationally and even globally!
Since we all want to help others, and we all want to succeed ourselves, let us concentrate on the contribution we can make. We can make a bigger contribution together, rather than apart. Remember united we stand, divided we fall.
I propose that the time is NOW to participate in TBNGH and make room for freedom and prosperity for all!

Have you ever wondered?
We had a small meeting on March 18. We discussed our new chapter yahoo group. Elsom Eldridge has asked me set one up for us, since we will not get any more postcards from NGH, it makes it easier to send a message to all members by typing one email. You should get an invitation to join soon. We can also post questions there, if you need any advice about a client or condition!
We also discussed the upcoming presentation on April 1 at the Dunedin Library.
Proposed Outline:
Introduction to NGH, chapter and members (Gloria)
How and when I found out about hypnosis. (Ron)
Can you be hypnotized? Book and balloon demo (Yolanda)
Applications which respond to hypnosis, including golf performance. (Mark)
My most amazing client(s)--success stories. (Patty)
Summary and demonstration--group or individual volunteer (Debbie)
We have 6 presenters with 7 minutes each. We have an hour and a half total. There will be an interactive question and answer period.
If you are interested, "Have you ever wondered about Hypnosis?" will be at the Dunedin Library on Douglas Avenue at 5:45pm on Tuesday, April 1.
